WOLF MAIL TO RELEASE 6th ALBUM
“Above The Influence”
“Above The Influence”
July 2012
Wolf Mail is getting set to release his sixth CD "Above The Influence", the eagerly awaited album, due out later this year. The new recording has a strong classic Blues flavour and a less is more humble approach to song writing and soloing. The focus is on guitar tone, phrasing with a profound commitment to every single note played.

In between putting the final touches on his latest work Wolf shared some insights on how he has approached his latest offering:
"For the last few months I have been gathering bits & pieces of songs, lyrics and riffs, and started to piece some tracks together. Once I had some ideas I was happy with, I called up the band to start some cooking. This time around we are definitely working on getting a rawer, spontaneous and ‘back to the roots’ Bluesy record”.
To achieve this sound, “Above The Influence” is being recorded in the studio but with all the band members playing live. A “Power trio” set up. Drums, Bass and Wolf. It represents a slight change in direction from Mail’s previous studio album "Electric Love Soul", recorded in Los Angeles with producer BB Chung King and Robert Cray's main man Dennis Walker.
"Working with BB and Dennis was an enlightening experience. We spent a lot of time on final touches and post-production. We also had backing vocalists, a B3 Hammond and saxophone, which made “Electric Love Soul” a pretty polished record. On this next one I thought I'd try the other end of the spectrum with a more spontaneous approach".
